AHLATCI HOLDING HOSTS HEMP SUMMIT
A hemp summit was held in Ahlatcı Holding directed by Ahmet Ahlatcı and operates in 6 main fields with its 34 companies including gold, energy, health, finance, automotive and real estate, exports to around 30 countries and has an important place in the import of gold in Turkey.
Çorum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi, Yozgat Governor Ziya Polat, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Karadağ, Hitit University Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Öztürk attended to the hemp summit held in the gold refinery facility of the holding in Çorum. Our Vice Rector and Coordinator of the Hemp Research Project Prof. Dr. Güngör Yılmaz, our Energy Research Group Head Assoc. Dr. İlhami Yiğit, former deputy of Yozgat and Member of the Presidency Science Policies Board Osman Coşkun and the technical team of the Ahlatcı Group operating in the field of biotechnology and energy took place in the summit hosted by Ahmet Ahlatcı.
At the meeting, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Karadağ expressed the mission of our university in the field of industrial hemp, the work done so far and his projections for the future. He also introduced products developed using hemp at our university. Paper developed from handmade hemp fibers, which is recently added to these products, attracted great attention.
Our Rector also made a presentation at the summit and expressed the individual activities of the research groups operating in the industrial hemp field and their desire to make supercapacitor batteries, especially in the field of energy. In this context, he stated that they will give all kinds of support to Ahlatcı Holding to invest in Yozgat. He stated that many companies wishing to invest in Yozgat in the field of industrial hemp have recently contacted our university and they wish Ahlatcı Holding to have a very special place among them. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Karadağ concluded his words by thanking our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan and our Vice President Mr. Fuat Oktay, who have supported this work of introducing hemp to the country's economy in an industrial sense.
Speaking on behalf of Ahlatcı Group at the meeting, Ahmet Ahlatcı stated that they wanted to invest in hemp field, that their teams are in a feasibility study on this subject, they stand closer to the energy and health sector and that they will definitely invest in Yozgat in cooperation with Hitit University. At the summit, Ahlatcı added that their only concern is to reduce foreign currency inflow and outflow from the country, that they are ready to do whatever they can with hemp, and they appreciate the efforts of Yozgat Bozok University in this issue.
The summit was concluded with the participants visiting the Ahlatcı Group's gold refinery facilities.
